Kristi Noem Says It Would Be ‘Appropriate’ For DOJ To Investigate AOC
Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez from New York may be approaching a significant legal predicament.
Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem addressed Fox News host Sean Hannity on Monday, stating that it would be “completely suitable” for the Department of Justice to investigate the Democrat-Socialist representative regarding a webinar she conducted, in which she provided guidance to illegal immigrants on how to respond if approached by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
This occurred after the outspoken representative challenged Border Czar Tom Homan to confront her. “Tom Homan stated that he would refer me to the Department of Justice for exercising my right to free speech in order to inform individuals of their constitutional rights. To that, I respond: Bring it on. Do I appear to be concerned?” she declared during her town hall meeting in Jackson Heights, Queens.
In response to Rep. Ocasio-Cortez’s remarks, Noem suggested that the Department of Justice ought to investigate her actions. “I believe it is imperative for the Department of Justice to examine this matter thoroughly,” she stated. “We have observed not only public officials willing to violate the law to enable the ongoing invasion and permit criminals to remain in our country, but also judges taking extreme measures to shield these offenders.
It is crucial that we uphold what is just.” “The American populace is weary of individuals exploiting our system to advance their agenda. It is important to note that the Democrats are leveraging fear as a means of control. They are actively inciting fear among the public and aligning themselves with known terrorists, thereby jeopardizing our future,” the Homeland Security chief remarked.
It is widely recognized what her intentions are. She aims to instruct individuals on evading detection by law enforcement or ICE. We continue our efforts to identify child predators in New York and within her jurisdiction. Some of those she seeks to educate about constitutional rights have prior convictions for rape or child sexual offenses, according to Homan.
“We are endeavoring to adhere to the legislation established by Congress.” It may be that they have more pressing matters than drafting laws they do not wish to see enforced; however, as a Congressional representative, one would expect her to advocate for ICE’s enforcement of the laws she contributed to and funded. This is our objective, yet she complicates and endangers the situation, he stated.
Hannity suggested that the representative’s argument pertained to free speech; however, he inquired, ‘At what point does it become assistance in violating the law?’ He continued, ‘That is precisely the question I posed to the Deputy Attorney General.’
He was requested to investigate the matter. ‘I remarked, ‘I have witnessed an individual intervene between you and the person you are detaining or confronting,’ Homan stated.
