OMG! Near Miss at Chicago Midway – Southwest Jet Avoids Collision

Chicago Midway Airport saw a tense close call this morning when a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 was forced into an emergency go-around to avoid a potential collision with a private jet.
Live footage from Streamtime LIVE captured the shocking moment as the Southwest aircraft, moments from landing, had to abort due to the private jet crossing an active runway.
According to the FAA, the business jet entered the runway without authorization.
Authorities have yet to confirm just how close the planes came to disaster, but the Southwest pilots’ quick action may have prevented a tragedy. Investigation updates to follow.

  A Russian military jet has crashed into a residential building shortly after taking off near the border with  Ukraine , sparking a major fire that has reportedly left at least 13 people dead, according to Russian news agency Interfax, citing a senior official. Video and photographs uploaded to social media on Monday showed a residential building engulfed in flames in Yeysk, a port and resort town in  Russia located just south of the Ukrainian city of Mariupol across the Sea of Azov. The Su-34 fighter-bomber crashed into the building shortly after take-off at the nearby Yuzhny airbase, the Russian defence ministry said in a statement. The cause of the crash was an engine fire that prevented the jet, which can be used on bombing runs or to engage other aircraft, from gaining altitude.   Friends and family of Nicole L. Gee say the 23-year-old Marine killed at the airport in Kabul, Afghanistan, last week died doing what she loved – helping people. Gee was one of 13 US service members killed in a terrorist attack outside Hamid Karzai International Airport on Thursday that left more than 170 other people dead. At least 20 US Marines were among the hundreds of people wounded. Just six days earlier, Gee had posted a photo on  Instagram , which was also posted on the Department of Defense’s social media pages, showing her holding an Afghan infant.
