Julia’s appearance was markedly transformed as she filmed poignant scenes for August: Osage County in Bartsville, Oklahoma, devoid of makeup and clad in unremarkable attire.

Her long brunette hair was styled simply for her role as Barbara Weston, a character in a family that navigates their differences when their alcoholic patriarch goes missing.
During a particularly intense scene, Ewan held Julia’s hand with great anticipation as they approached a boat dock to identify a deceased body with the Sheriff.
Although Julia appeared somewhat dowdy in her attire while filming this emotional scene, where she had to confront the dead body, she later broke into laughter between takes.
The actress was seen enjoying a light moment with Julianne Nicholson, who seemed to be sharing something amusing with the group.
Notably, Julianne also dressed in a rather unremarkable manner, wearing a blue shirt and brown flared trousers, with her hair pulled back into a ponytail.
Additional cast members in the 2013 film include Benedict Cumberbatch portraying ‘Little Charles Aiken’ and Meryl Streep as Violet Weston.
According to the IMDb page for the film, Renée Zellweger and Andrea Riseborough were both considered for a role.
Although Riseborough was initially cast, she withdrew due to scheduling conflicts, leading to Juliette Lewis stepping in as Karen Weston.
